We are pleased to announce our Ninth Annual Mini-Meet to be held at the gym on Saturday April 12, 2008. There will be one Mini-Meet at 11:00 AM for the younger students. At 12:30 PM there will be many demonstrations put on by the Galaxy Competitive Team. At 1:00PM there will be a second Mini-Meet for the older students, then another demonstration by our Team Girls at 2:30PM. Times for each student will be announced after all have signed up for the Mini-Meet. A mini-meet is a small competition for the students that attend our gym. The students will have the opportunity to compete against other classes. Also each student will have a chance to compete in all four events; bars, tumbling, vault and beam. However, the student does not have to compete in all four events if they do not want to. Each student may come to the mini-meet and compete in only one event if they choose to. Each student can choose the event they want to compete in. Many awards will be given out. So, the more events a child chooses the more chances they will have of getting an award. There will be an all around trophy handed out for the student competing in all four events and achieving the highest amount of points. There will be a judge at each event scoring each student from 1-10, 10 being a perfect score. This will be a fun filled experience for all of the students. Each student will only be competing against students from their own age and skill level. Students must be at least 5 years old to participate and have attended Galaxy Gymnastics for at least one year (or be enrolled in an advanced class). See Mrs. Hope if not sure. Students must also be enrolled in our 3rd semester beginning March 10, 2008 to participate. We are limiting the entire Mini-Meet to 50 students. Spaces do fill up very quickly. If you are interested please sign up as quickly as possible. The sign up sheet will be at the front desk. There will also be a refreshment stand set up with hot dogs and drinks as well as a variety of exciting gym items i.e. bags, pins, photo albums and much more. There will be a $25.00 fee for each student participating in the Mini-Meet (due when you sign up at the front desk). There will be a $2.00 entrance fee payable at the door on the day of the Mini-Meet, for spectators (not for any child that will be participating in the Mini-Meet)
If you are enrolled in Saturday classes please see the front desk to schedule a make up class!
This is a great opportunity for children that attend our gym to get a chance to see what we do at a mini-meet and how much fun they can have even if they do not participate. We encourage all children whether they belong to the gym or not to come, see and enjoy this event! This will be a fun filled day for all who attend! Let the games begin… Mrs. Hope
